My first smart phone was the iPhone 3GS 8GB also it was my first apple product I was so exited driving into the telstra store on March 26th 2011 it was around the time when iPhone 4 was out i had read online they were having some problems with the hardware that was why i went with iPhone 3GS.
I remember sitting at my dads kitchen table trying to figure out how this thing worked it took me a little to get use to, organising my contacts trying to send a SMS for the first time that was funny i said to my dad "how do you send a group SMS" because he had the iPhone 4 so he showed me how to do it. Thinking back on it now i laugh at having to ask my dad for help with tech, I'm a geek, fast forward to today i would have went on youtube and look it up, ok once my dad showed my how to send a group SMS i went through my contacts and sent my new number out. i think it was IOS 4.2 running on it at the time.
when i got home from my dad's place in melbourne on the sunday afternoon / night i recorded an un-boxing video and uploaded it youtube thats how my first weekend went with my iPhone 3GS. At this time i didn't have a mac i was rocking a custom made win 7 64bit machine that i built in 2008, I was so hyped about the iPhone i told everyone "OMG iPhone is the best u have to get one" i think i was iPhone blind it was sometime in that first week i signed up for a apple iTunes account i was hooked downloading apps friends were telling me about trying all sorts of new things.
So it began i said to myself i want a new computer i was still rocking the win 7 pc i built i was making more and more videos for youtube so on August 3rd 2011 i bought my mid 2011 Mac Mini witch I'm still using as of Feb 14th 2013 and many more years to come, the iPhone came a little easier to use, the integration with the mac and iTunes made it so easy i was having a blast i had my new iPhone and mac i was set.
I thought this phone was awesome i was still rocking 4.3 but on October 12, 2011 we had a massive up-grade to IOS 5 with the introduction of iCloud witch i thought was unreal (at the time) we could do wireless sync and back up, however there was a few problems with it i couldn't backup my iPhone to iCloud when it first launched a couple of months went by i could finally backup to iCloud yyyeeaaa goodddyy i said.
i started using it for everything i downloaded the apple remote which worked with iTunes i was using iTunes as my music and movie hub i was like cool i can now control my music from the back room of my house where I do my sit-ups,
By this stage i bought my samsung 55" LED LCD tv december 14th 2010, i found and downloaded the samsung app witch allows u to control your tv over your home WIFI network witch i thought was cool.
Moving forward to mid 2012 i noticed myself using Google services more and more E.G Google Docs, Google Calendar, Youtube so basically my hole life was, is now in google and iv been noticing IOS slow becoming more and more stale, My mum got her fist smart phone the HTC running Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 she let me play around with it and O MY GOD i was hooked from that moment (bye bye apple) i said I'm switching to Android.
